This scheme shall be called “The Wired Internet Scheme for ICT Laboratory in Schools in the State of Goa”.

It shall be applicable to all the Government Schools and Government-Aided Schools under the Directorate of Education of the Government of Goa. The scheme shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

The State of Goa is developing speedily as an educational hub and internet services have become an integral and indispensable part of the education system for communication, learning along with the spread of knowledge, so as to make the student equipped for the digital world.
Digital India is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The Government of Goa has taken various initiatives to promote various of the envisioned Digital India programmes, specially promoting Education through Information and Communication Technology.

To facilitate these initiatives internet services is a much needed infrastructure that is needed to provide learning tools, usage of MOOC’s platform for learning, towards developing needed digital, computational, and other related skills; all this for the benefit of the students. To provide internet services to the schools ICT laboratories so as to promulgate enhanced learning, the Government of Goa is pleased to constitute “The Wired Internet Scheme for ICT Laboratory in Schools in the State of Goa” envisaging grant of monthly rental reimbursement to avail internet

services from a local internet services provider, for Government or Government Aided Schools in the State of Goa
