The Project Management Unit, Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) Scheme hosted a summer internship program for undergraduate students from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani (Goa and Hyderabad campuses). The internship lasted for 53 days, from May 30 to July 21, 2023.
During the internship, the selected students focused on understanding the present ICT framework and the challenges of implementing it in middle school grades (Class 6, 7, and 8). They worked on enhancing the elective curriculum with significant additions in Toy-based pedagogy, an Artificial Intelligence-driven ChatBot system, and a Web-based application.
These enhancements aimed to strengthen the digital structure of the CARES scheme and accommodate the large number of enrollments received for the curriculum in the current academic year. The interns demonstrated their competence and agility in augmenting the existing resources, making valuable contributions to the curriculum structure.
The internship concluded with a valedictory program where the interns received certificates signed by the Project Director, Dr. Vijay Borges. This internship experience will further support upcoming collaborations and contribute to the progress of the CARES Scheme, facilitated by the Project Management Unit
