“Atal Nirnay” – Goa Codes 2026 Competition

The Project Management Unit (PMU) under the Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) Scheme, Government of Goa, has been successfully organising its annual flagship student engagement competition, Goa Codes, since 2023. As part of this initiative, the PMU proposes to organise “ATAL NIRNAY” – Goa Codes 2026 , a state-level competition for students of Classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX during the Academic Year 2025–2026 in collaboration with the Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC)

“ATAL NIRNAY” serves as the umbrella theme for Goa Codes 2026, focusing on responsible decision-making (Nirnay), sustainability, community participation and environmental stewardship. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa has been taking active steps to reduce waste and protect the environment. In line with this vision, ATAL Nirnay aims to use technology and student innovation as a way to find practical solutions and help in eradicating these problems. This initiative also supports the national goal of sustainable development and responsible citizenship, helping young students become part of the mission to build a cleaner, greener, and Garbage-Mukt Goa.

Competition Structure and Levels

The competition under “Atal Nirnay” – Goa Codes 2026 shall be conducted in the following three phases:

Date: Tentatively to be scheduled from 2ⁿᵈ February to 28ᵗʰ February 2026

Eligibility: 

  1. Each participating school may constitute one or more teams.
  2. Each team shall consist of:
      1. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 students.
      2. Must include at least one student from each of Class VI, Class VII, Class VIII, and Class IX.
      3. Must include at least three students enrolled in the Elective Curriculum for Academic Year 2025–26.

Coordination and Mentorship: 

  1. Each team shall be supported by two Coordinator Teachers from the school.
  2. The Head of the Institute shall provide overall institutional support.
  3. One Teach For Goa Fellow (TFG-F) shall be assigned as a mentor to each participating school.

Certificates and Prizes: 

  1. All participating students shall receive an e-certificate of participation.
  2. The best-performing teams at the school level shall be awarded Winner Certificates.

Date: Tentatively scheduled from 2ⁿᵈ March to 12ᵗʰ March 2026.

Eligibility: At the Taluka Level, the single nominated team from each school shall be taken up for evaluation.

Date: Tentatively between 7ᵗʰ April to 10ᵗʰ April 2026.

Eligibility: The two selected teams from each Taluka shall participate in the State-Level Competition and present their projects to the judging panel.

Certificates and Cash Prizes will be awarded to winners at Phase II and Phase III.
