The Project Management Unit (PMU) under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa, is responsible for implementing the Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) Scheme. The scheme was launched in May 2021 with the aim of integrating Computational and Design Thinking skills into middle school education (Class VI to VIII) across 442 Government and Government-Aided Schools in Goa.
Key Highlights of CARES Scheme:
Regular Curriculum: Taught during school hours by over 540 Computer Teachers, reaching 65,000+ students across Goa.
Elective Curriculum: Conducted post-school hours using a Hub & Spoke model.
In AY 2025-26 Elective Curriculum will be delivered in 200+ Lead Schools, engaging 20,000+ students with hands-on learning in emerging technologies.
Advanced Learning Tools: Students use Single Board Computers (SBCs), Robotics Kits, AI, VR, IoT, Blender, Kojo, and more.
Skill Development: Prepares students for the digital world with real-world applications in coding, robotics, and AI.

Theme:Promotion of CARES Scheme
Competition Guidelines:
Eligibility: Open to all individuals and teams from Goa (15 years Resident Certificate to be submitted). No age restrictions.
Theme Focus: Reels must creatively promote the CARES Scheme inviting more students to enroll for Elective Curriculum, highlighting its impact on Education, future benefits for students, technology and skill development.
Duration: Reels should be between 30 to 60 seconds long.
Format: Videos must be in portrait mode (9:16 aspect ratio) suitable for Instagram Reels.
Language: Entries can be in English or Konkani (or a mix).
Mandatory Elements: – Use the official logos of CARES & Government of Goa in the reel.
Participants must submit a 15-year Resident Certificate and a Declaration stating that the submitted entry is their original work and does not contain any copyrighted content.
Two collaborations are allowed – participants must mention two Instagram usernames in their submission
Content: – Must be original and not contain copyrighted content. – Should align with the positive vision of the CARES Scheme. – Avoid any offensive, misleading, or political messaging.
